Cbeyond, a leading provider of IT and communications services to more than 58,000 small businesses in the U.S. and a member of the South Shore Chamber, recently sponsored a community outreach project to benefit a local charity.
On Tuseday, July 19, WCRN True Talk Radio held its 5th Annual Golf Outing at the Blackstone National Golf Course in Sutton. The event featured the 1st Annual Ball Drop, sponsored by Cbeyond. For the ball drop, golfers purchased $10 golf balls, which were numbered and then dropped from a helicopter over the holes on the golf course. Golfers received prizes based on how close their balls landed to the designated hole. The profits from the ball drop benefited Why Me & Sherry's House, a Worcester-based non-profit organization created to help Central New England families cope with childhood cancer.
Cbeyond promised to match donations raised up to $3,000 and presented the organization with a check at the event. A total of 375 balls were purchased.
